Prep work is 75% of any paint job. Preferred One prefers doing it right. We can offer a wide range of ideas on colors for interior/exterior painting for your home.

DESCRIPTION:

Prep and Apply New Paint or Stain to any previously painted/stained or new surfaces as described in this proposal.

GENERAL INTERIOR PAINTER PREP:

  • Will fill cracks/holes only in areas the job is being completed as described in customers proposal, which may include ceilings, walls or woodwork.
  • Fix any moving cracks/joints by either using joint tape or paper and caulking [latex] material.
  • Scuff sand woodwork, trim, etc.
  • Seal Stains or prime any bare/new wood.
  • Remove any loose/peeling wallpaper, prime/texture/paint.
  • Will apply tape or tape/paper around areas painter deems necessary to protect a surface.
  • Will use drop cloths and plastic sheeting as painter deems necessary to protect areas/surface.
  • Will move some furniture, usually towards center of room w/some exceptions [see “customer prep” below].

GENERAL EXTERIOR PAINTER PREP

  • Will powerwash before beginning prep and painting at least one day before.
  • Will fill cracks/holes only in areas the job is being completed as described in this proposal
  • Will caulk only those areas that were previously caulked.
  • Will scrape any loose or peeling paint to provide a firm base for fresh paint.
  • Will spot prime any rusted areas using Latex primer to promote adhesion and prevent corrosion

PAINTS/MATERIALS:

We generally only use either Sherwin Williams “Super Paint” or Benjamin Moore “Super Spec” or higher grades paints and/or products from these manufacturers. If a product is requested by customer other than these, the labor warranty provided may not apply and additional charges to this proposal may be added. Lower grade paints generally cost more and require more material to cover an area than its higher grade competitor.

COLORS/ SHEENS/ TYPES

The customer is soley responsible for all decisions made towards the choice of any “color”, “sheen” or type of paint. We cannot be held liable.

INTERIOR APPLICATIONS:

As a general rule only brush and roll interiors, which includes walls, ceilings and woodwork, except if premises is vacant or a spray booth is made.

EXTERIOR APPLICATIONS

We generally use all methods of application such as spraying and brush and rolling depending upon the area, weather conditions, exterior conditions such as bushes, trees, awnings, pools, decks will come into play as the method of application we use.

INTERIOR CUSTOMER PREP:

  • Customer to remove and small/fragile objects, pictures, antiques, electronics or anything of irreplaceable value.
  • Customer to have moved any cumbersome/heavy objects.
  • We cannot be held liable for moving or breaking any piece of furniture or object that customer leaves out for us to move. We are not a moving company. We will try to take special care of whatever we paint around or move, but ultimately it is the customer’s responsibility.

JOB SITE CONDITIONS:

When an area is not complete, job site will be left prepped, but orderly. If a customer requests that we take down an area and re-prep additional labor/materials will be added at an hourly basis.

CLEAN UP:

Clean up will be done upon job completion. Some painters clean up as they go. Customer and painter should chose an area where supplies can be stored and kept while job is being completed if necessary.

OUR PAINTING WARRANTY

[1] YEAR LABOR WARRANTY

For a period of 12 months from the date of completion, the contractor warrants against peeling and blistering due to their defective workmanship. For the warranty to be effective, you the customer, must:
1. Pay the full contract price.
2. Retain a copy of the original signed contract.
3. Complete a customer comment card.
4. Contract the contractor within this period at: 972/671-9324.

 

WARRANTY APPLIES TO: WARRANTY DOES NOT APPLY TO:
  • Perform any repairs with no LABOR chrg to original purchaser.
  • Perform any covered repairs to the level of surface prep specified on original signed contract.
  • Perform any covered repairs only on the specific areas where peeling or blistering has occurred.
  • Interior moisture or moisture damage/mold/mildew
  • Exterior moisture or moisture damage/mold/mildew.
  • Client supplied paint or Paint matching.
  • Peeling of previous paint layers or Rotton Wood [delamination]
  • Failure by structural/design conditions, cracks in plaster.
  • Damage caused by insect or animal
  • Bleeding knots, rust or cedar. Galavanized Metal.
  • Touchups from other trades or owner.
  • Horizontal or Varnished Surfaces
  • Imperfections in woodwork. Paint to beautify and protect
  • Mill glazing from smooth cedar.
  • Touch ups from other trades or owner.
